Creditron Awarded System Upgrade from Florida County Tax Collector

Creditron, a leading provider of remittance processing solutions, today announced that the company recently was awarded a contract to upgrade the remittance processing platform of a Florida county tax collector that is a longtime Creditron user.

The county will upgrade its ItemAge remittance software and replace its NCR iTran300e and iTran3000T sorters with five Canon CR190 scanners. The county will use two of the Canon scanners for remittance processing, two scanners for remote capture, and one scanner for backup and disaster recovery. By replacing its NCR devices with new scanners, the county will increase the speed and accuracy of its remittance processing, improve information reporting, and enable remote capture.

The county uses Creditron’s ItemAge platform to process mailed-in tax payments. The county’s ItemAge platform includes components for courtesy and legal amount recognition (CAR/LAR) for personal and business checks, key-from-image functionality for exceptions handling, hot or positive files to automatically stop processing of flagged accounts, and image and data archive and retrieval.

The upgraded ItemAge platform will allow the county to deposit checks electronically via Check 21, which eliminates the need to transport payments to a branch each day and helps ensure that the county can meet its financial institution’s deposit cut-off times each day. ItemAge also will enable the county to automatically post receivables data to the Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), eliminating the need for the county to maintain custom code for uploads.

Additionally, the county is considering processing utility payments on the upgraded platform.
