RP$ Mark Sense
Detect marks and checkboxes on return stubs!
Mark Recognition allows the use of "check boxes" or "bubble
marks" to collect user entered data from a stub. This flexible feature
can support interpretation of change of address marks, user designation
of amount, and user entered data such as a meter reading.
When Mark Recognition detects a mark in the specified area of a document
a number of customer defined actions can be determined depending on specific
processing requirements:
- The application can be configured to prompt for operator data entry
of some user defined data that will then be part of the transaction
record (e.g. address change information, donation amount information,
meter read information etc..).
- The application can assign a user defined value to a specified field.
This feature is ideal for applications where customers are paying their
regular bill and also can indicate that they wish to donate an additional
pre-defined amount to a charity. For example, if the customer checks
off the $10.00 donation , Mark Recognition will detect the check mark
and return $10.00 to a donation field. The application can be configured
so that the donation amount is added to the regular “owing”
amount from the scan line so that the “owing” + donation
amount balances with the accompanying check.
- The application can simply make note of the mark detection and assign
a true value to a field. This transaction can then be appropriately
flagged by your host system or in an appropriate Creditron utility program
such as Meter Read or Address Change.
