Newsletter Summer 2002
Welcome to the first issue of our electronic newsletter... The Headlines: Now you can convert checks to electronic payments! Now you can convert checks to electronic payments! To ensure that our clients remain on the leading edge of payment technology Creditron has formed a strategic alliance with Ventanex for the electronic conversion of check payments. Under new banking regulations which came into effect March 15, 2002 personal checks received through the mail or over the counter may be scanned to capture the image and data, and an electronic file presented to for electronic clearing through the ACH (Automated Clearing House) network, which cleared over 7 billion electronic payments in 2001. The original check is then destroyed, and the image retained as an electronic record of the transaction. This new feature of Creditron's RP$ 2000 software provides faster availability of funds, and facilitates more efficient handling of returned checks. Of course the integration with Ventanex also facilitates payments initiated by web or telephone as well. For more information contact info@creditron.com.
Is it time to consider updating your Creditron system? In order to ensure continued satisfaction with your Creditron solution, Creditron offers upgrade packages that can bring your solution up to date with the latest technology. Upgrades cost only a fraction of the price of replacement systems, and certain upgrades are free for clients under maintenance. Is it time to upgrade? Here are some indications: 1 You want to upgrade to a newer version of the Windows operating system (2000 or XP). This is the most common reason for upgrading. For ease of internal network administration and support you want all of your PC's on the same operating system. If your Creditron system was purchased for Windows 3.1, 95, or 98 we can help you migrate to the newer operating systems with an upgrade . If your Creditron system was purchased for NT and a software maintenance agreement is in place, then the upgrade is free. 2. Your hardware may be approaching the end of it's life cycle. If you still have an NCR 7720 system, it is time for an upgrade. The 7720 was last manufactured in 1996 and will become increasingly difficult to maintain going forward. You can update your system by going to RP$ 2000 with the newer NCR 7731 or NCR 7780. These are the current production machines from NCR and will ensure you another 5 to 7 years of reliable service. If you already have an NCR 7731, then you have the most current model so there is no reason to upgrade. NOTE: If anyone tries to tell you that the NCR 7731 has been discontinued they are incorrect. NCR may release a new desktop model next year, or at some time in the future, but there has been no notice, or even preliminary notice to that effect. If in doubt - call us for the facts! 3. You want to take advantage of new features - and higher productivity. RP$ 2000 offers advanced imaging features that were not available a few years ago, including reading of handwritten amounts from checks, reading checkboxes from stubs, page scanning, and electronic check conversion. RP$ 2000 lockbox extensions add automated messaging, email, and fax capabilities, as well as tracking and reporting of billing data. RP$ 2000 also provides the highest throughput - up to 25% faster than previous versions running on same hardware platform. If any or all of the above apply to your situation, please contact us at info@creditron.com for more information on upgrades available for your specific system.

Message from the president Eight years ago, Creditron was founded with the vision to become the leader in providing innovative and effective solutions to payment processing challenges. Since then, we have experienced rapid growth, and we have continued to innovate - but the inspiration for the innovation does not come from us. It comes from our clients, and from working with you and listening to you. I still find the most enjoyable part of my job is to visit a client site, learn about the unique challenges, and work together to find new and better solutions. As Creditron grows, and the number of client sites increase we still want to ensure that we maintain a high level of contact with our clients. In order to facilitate better communications, and ensure that all of our users get the most out of their Creditron solutions, we believe that the time has come to form a Creditron User's Group. With over 150 users, we are sure that there will be sufficient interaction and feedback to help us improve our products and help you improve your performance in payment processing. The goal will be to hold annual conferences for technology updates, professional development, feedback, and sharing of information which will lead to future product improvements. More details will be forthcoming, and if you are interested in participating in the organization of the user's group, please contact Gay Brumley (gbrumley@creditron.com). Hopefully you will find that the information in this newsletter is helpful. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please let us know at info@creditron.com. We are here to serve you and Creditron's success is directly linked to the success of your payment processing operation!
